Brent O’Neill is a 2022 graduate of Boston University, having earned a Master of Social Work and Master of Divinity. He is currently working towards full Clinical Social Work licensure.  Brent practiced Social Work in an inpatient psychiatric hospital, specializing in care for adults with Substance Use Disorders, as well as adolescents.  He has practiced in school-based settings, and he has extensive experience working in progressive faith-based and interfaith organizations.  Brent is interested in the intersections of LGBTQ+ identities, faith and culture, and affirming practices.        

 

In creating a therapeutic relationship with clients, Brent operates from empathy- and skills-based perspectives.  He works towards understanding clients as they understand themselves, so that together they can work towards healthier coping strategies and relationship patterns.  He enjoys working individually and in groups with adolescents and adults experiencing depression, anxiety, and substance use disorders.
