Hello, my name is Brent O'Neill, MDiv, LCSW

A Bit About Me

I'm passionate about working with teenagers, adults, and couples experiencing depression, anxiety, and challenges adjusting to new chapters in life. I am an openly queer therapist, leading me to a compassionate understanding of challenges other LGBTQ+ people face.

I completed graduate degrees in Social Work and Religion at Boston University, which allows me to explore faith, spirituality, & deconstruction with people who find spiritual exploration helpful, including atheists and agnostics. I don't assume I know the "right" answer for all people, and I'm grateful to accompany the exploration.

I offer premarital, individual, & couples sessions. I also co-lead The Emerald Lighthouse, a monthly LGBTQ+ Teen Group.

My goal is to build compassionate, empathetic relationships with clients so that together we can work towards healthier coping strategies and relationship patterns. My therapeutic style is informed by CBT, Internal Family Systems, and DBT.

I have worked in schools, psychiatric & medical hospitals, and progressive faith communities, with people experiencing adjustment challenges, suicidal thoughts, and chronic illnesses.

I know that Googling 'therapists near me' is one of many brave steps in healing. I hope you'll continue to take those steps, and I'd be honored to be part of that journey with you.

Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy hiking with my huskies, collecting postcards, and reading, often about the Enneagram.
