Jote is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years experience working with children, teens, adults and families in settings from hospitals to homes. She graduated from Wesley College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and obtained her Masters of Social Work degree from Widener University. Jote is a Certified Grief Counselor and will soon be credentialed to administer Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She is also trained in trauma-informed yoga and hopes to add this into her work with clients.
Through her work she has assisted clients who have struggled with anxiety, depression and family conflict. She focuses on working with those affected by trauma by helping to develop healthy coping skills, healthier patterns, identify strengths and build support systems.
Clients describe Jote’s therapeutic approach as genuine, understanding and compassionate as well as nonjudgmental, while also having the ability to infuse humor into the sessions. She believes the client’s needs and preferences are critical to successful resolution of their difficulties. Her top priority is welcoming all people in an open minded environment and believes each client deserves to be valued and listened to.
